Ingredients

4 cups fresh strawberries (about 1 pound), hulled, halved*
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups Banyuls dessert wine

Preparation

    Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl; toss gently. Cover and macerate at room temperature for 2-3 hours. Strain juices into a small saucepan; return berries to bowl. Boil juices until syrupy, about 10 minutes. Let cool. Pour syrup over berries.
