Ingredients

1/4 cup dried currants
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Marsala
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
Vanilla ice cream
Amaretti or other cookies, crumbled

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Combine first 6 ingredients in heavy small saucepan. Boil until syrupy, stirring frequently, about 10 minutes. Cool slightly. Discard cinnamon.

    Step 2

    Scoop ice cream into bowls. Spoon warm currant mixture over ice cream. Sprinkle with cookies and serve.
