Ingredients

2 12-ounce packages fresh cranberries
1 1/2 cups pure maple syrup
1 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
1/2 cup water
3/4 teaspoon maple extract

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients in heavy large saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring often. Reduce heat to medium; simmer until cranberries pop, stirring often, about 12 minutes. Transfer to bowl. Cool completely. (Can be made 5 days ahead. Cover; chill.)
