Ingredients

1 cube sugar
2 or 3 dashes Angostura or orange bitters
Twist lemon peel
Handful ice cubes
2 oz. rum

Garnishes:

Slice orange or orange twist
Maraschino cherry

Preparation

  1. Place the sugar cube in an old-fashioned glass and sprinkle with bitters. Crush sugar with muddler or the back of a wooden spoon. Add lemon peel, ice cubes, and rum, and stir gently until glass is cool. Garnish with orange slice or twist and cherry.
