Ingredients

Greek Celebration Bread (page 112)
3/4 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup chopped dried apricots
1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds, slightly toasted
3 hard-cooked eggs, dyed red

Preparation

  1. Prepare the dough for the celebration bread, mixing in the raisins, apricots, and the almonds during the final 2 minutes of the mixing in Step 3. Proceed as for the celebration bread, but instead of shaping into a boule, divide the dough into 3 equal pieces and braid using the 3-braid method shown on page 84. Nestle the eggs in the spaces between the braided strands.
