Easy BBQ Sauce

If there’s no time to pick up a bottle of BBQ sauce in the after-work rush, here’s a simple homemade recipe using ingredients you probably already have in the fridge or pantry.

Ingredients

3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons minced onion
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/4 to 1 teaspoon Tabasco or other hot sauce to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, onion, mustard, Tabasco, and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week.
