Ingredients

1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice plus, if desired, lemon slices for garnish
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
3/4 cup bourbon, or to taste

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan stir together the lemon juice, the sugar, and the water and simmer the mixture, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in the bourbon, divide the lemonade among heated mugs, and garnish each drink with a lemon slice.
