Ingredients

1 teaspoon superfine sugar
2 sprigs fresh mint
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 1/2 to 3 ounces liquor (brandy, gin, rum or any whiskey)
Club soda
Fresh mint for garnish

Preparation

  1. Put sugar, mint and a little water in a small tumbler or Old-fashioned glass and muddle to crush the mint and dissolve the sugar. Add ice and pour in the liquor. Finish with a little club soda, if you like, and garnish with a sprig of mint.
