Molasses

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Need some, have none

    Step 1

In baking, for 1 cup of molasses, you can substitute an equal amount of honey or dark corn syrup, or 3/4 cup dark brown sugar plus 1/4 cup water. The flavor of your recipe will, of course, change somewhat.

  2. Stuck to container

    Step 2

Next time, butter the container lightly before putting the molasses in it and the molasses will roll right off. Now, put the container in a larger container with hot water in it. Warmed molasses is thinner and will unstick.
