Comeback Sauce
This “secret sauce” can be made a day ahead—in fact, we recommend that you do that, to help those flavors marry well together. (It’s called “Comeback Sauce” because they keep comin’ back for more!)
Recipe information
Yield
makes scant 3/4 cup
Ingredients
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons buttermilk
2 tablespoons Neely’s BBQ sauce (see page 37)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl. Let the sauce sit in the refrigerator as long as possible to let the flavors marry, or make the day ahead.
