Darren DiPietro was an American baker and owner of the Cake Studio, a bakery in Ocean City, NJ. For more than five years, DiPietro’s Cake Studio created custom cakes and desserts, including wedding cakes that were repeatedly featured in Philadelphia Magazine: Weddings. Prior to the Cake Studio, for three years, DiPietro was the pastry chef at Le Bec-Fin, a French fine dining institution in Philadelphia, PA. He published his first recipe in Bon Appetit while completing his postgraduate studies. He had a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Delaware in Newark, DE, and a Master’s in chemistry from Penn State University in Philadelphia, PA. In 2017, he died at age 58 in Ocean City, MD.
